So another weekend has closed and sadly that means another work week is about to begin. I love spending time with my boys and wife, yet I don't think the average person grasps how awesome these moments can be.

They know that tomorrow they will see one another and it doesn't really matter if they spend ample time together today.

The sad reality of it all is most of us without even thinking are stuck in this rat race of American life. Trying to get that extra inch, that extra mile, or maybe even that extra dollar when it's not really worth it. So take a step back and smell the air around you or kiss the one you love, because tomorrow or the next day you may not see them for a very long time.

And those times can be the hardest of all.

I thought this was going to be easy...

Ya know, there are times in the military where you just cant wait for the weekend. This week, was of course one of those weeks. It felt like the weekend couldnt come soon enough and then BAM. It hits you like a ton of bricks that its here. The sad part is it ends just as soon as it comes.

Two worst days of the week? Monday followed by a very close Sunday. I cant stand these days because even though I get Sunday off its not really a day off in my book. I still have to go to bed early, and cant enjoy myself with friends into the late hours like Friday night and Saturday night, but technically the day is simply that. Just a day.

Today turned out to be a good day as well getting to watch some Wolverine football with the boy. He seems to be grasping the concept of Blue and Maize greatness which only comes from being a true Michigander. Those are the times that I wish wouldn't end. As cheesy as that may sound those moments are few and far between for someone with my job. It seems that as soon as I start to get settled in and comfortable with my family I'm ripped away from them very quickly.

I may have only seen one deployment since Ive been in, but it sure was a long one. Fifteen months was a long time to be separated from the ones I love, but its the price I pay and when its over thank the lord it is over. I promise that if you read this, I will try to keep it as updated as possible. Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to maybe possibly see life through the eyes of something completely different then civilian life.
